The Engineering
Built For Everyday Punk Commuting

20″ Fat-Tire Frame
High-strength carbon steel
Planted & Punchy
20 × 4.0" fat tires and a stiff carbon-steel frame give a stable, confidence-inspiring ride over city chop and light trails.
Reinforced Rear
Reinforced rear-wheel supports mean the X1S can take a bit of abuse — Macfox even markets it as trick-capable.
Clean, Minimalist Look
A stripped-back frame with a gold chain and shield headlight is begging for DIY personalisation.

Single or Dual Battery
48V 10.4Ah · up to 56 mi
500W / 750W-Peak Hub
A 500W rear hub peaks at 750W for a 20 mph Class-2 cruise and confident launches.
Add A Second Battery
Run one 48V 10.4Ah pack for 28 miles, or add a second for up to 56 miles between charges.
UL 2271 Cells
The single-battery configuration is UL 2271 certified, with a 5–6 hour recharge.

Hydraulic Stopping Power
UL 2849 · hydraulic disc
Hydraulic Disc Brakes
Hydraulic discs with upgraded, quieter pads give the X1S stronger, more consistent stopping than the mechanical-brake M16.
UL-2849 Certified
The complete e-system carries UL 2849 certification for peace of mind.
Shield LED Headlight
A shield-style LED headlight sharpens both the look and the night-time visibility.
The Cockpit
A Tidy, Rider-First Cockpit
Backlit LCD + Separated Throttle + LED Lighting
The X1S splits its dashboard and thumb throttle into separate units, so the bars stay uncluttered and the throttle sits exactly where you want it.
A backlit LCD keeps speed, battery and assist level clear day or night, and the removable, position-adjustable throttle lets you set up the controls to suit your hands.

The Bike Cave Verdict
Ben's Take
I haven't ridden the X1S on camera yet, but it reads like the sweet spot of the Macfox range — a punk-styled 20-inch fat-tire commuter that fixes the M16's two biggest limits with hydraulic brakes and an optional second battery for up to 56 miles. You still get a 500W (750W peak) hub and a 20 mph Class-2 cruise, plus UL-2849 safety and a clean, customisable frame, from $1,399. It's single-speed, so it's a throttle-and-go city bike rather than a hill-climbing pedaler, but for stylish, low-fuss commuting it looks like strong value. Full ride review to come.
