Mudliz M6000 X

A 60V, 6,000W electric dirt bike with 17 and 14 inch wheels, no pedals and no lights. It's a playful little pit bike that's easy to ride. I put 40 mph on the GPS and rode 14 miles with three battery bars left.

⚠︎ One thing you should know

This is a soft, fixed-suspension pit bike built for lighter riders. I'm close to 200 lb and could bottom it out, and Mudliz doesn't publish a weight limit. The bike in my video also arrived with shipping damage, so I rode it without the side plastics and front plate, and with silver pegs I bought myself. Within four hours of my message, Mudliz emailed me two tracking numbers for the replacement parts.

What I Actually Measured

See every test in the video →
Top Speed
40 mph
GPS · close to 200 lb rider · mode 3

Mudliz claims 45. Mode 1 topped out at 16 to 17 mph, mode 2 at about 28, and mode 3 got to 40 on the GPS. I'm close to 200 pounds, so a lighter rider should get closer to the claim.

Hill Climb
26–27 mph
Uphill · mode 3 · throttle only · ~15% grade

My usual hill from the fire hydrant gives underpowered bikes trouble. The M6000 X held 26 to 27 mph with me on it, and the speedometer matched the GPS. On a steeper hill later, with one battery bar left, it still did 23 mph.

Acceleration
26 mph
Lamp pole to driveway · mode 3

My benchmark is 20 mph by the driveway. Mode 1 is super tame at 16, mode 2 pulls to 23, and mode 3 hit 26. Mode 3 is the one it wants to be in all the time.

Braking
28 mph → stop
Inside 20 ft · four-piston front

The rear wanted to lift off the ground and the front has a lot of bite. It stopped with room for about half a bike to spare.

Real Range
14 mi
Three of four bars left · mixed riding

At 14 miles I still had three bars. I figure another 10 to 15 miles if you're conservative and avoid big hills. Mudliz claims up to 56, and my rule of thumb is about one mile per amp hour on throttle alone.

Throttle Control
Smooth crawl
Mode 3 · about a quarter twist

With 6,000 watts on tap I wanted to know if it was easy to control. A quarter inch of twist gives a tiny bit of power, and it builds smoothly to the top. It's a nicely detailed throttle.

Plan Your Ride

Your Range, Not Mine

My 14 miles with three bars left came from a mix of hills, gravel and sand at close to 200 lb. Set the speed, terrain and your own weight below and you will get the window to plan a ride inside. Mudliz doesn't publish the bike's weight, so the calculator uses an estimate for it.

The Engineering

What's On The Bike

Mudliz M6000 X motor cover

Power You Can Tune

60V · 6,000W peak · Fardriver S12 controller

The Part Most Guys Pay To Upgrade

The bike comes with a Fardriver controller you can talk to from your phone. A Bluetooth dongle plugs into a little white connector and lets you change the power curves, throttle and top speed in the app.

250 Nm, As Geared

Mudliz claims 6,000 watts and 250 Newton meters. That's a lot off the line, and more than enough to carry a 200 pound rider up my hill without any trouble.

Three Modes, Very Different Bikes

Mode 1 is tame enough that my nine year old could control it, mode 2 pulls to about 28, and mode 3 is the one you'll live in. Mudliz lists the three modes at 18, 30 and 45 mph.

Mudliz M6000 X inverted fork

Soft, Slow Suspension

Inverted fork · hydraulic coil rear shock

Like Riding A Cloud

It's nice and slow and controlled. Nothing bucks you off potholes at 40 mph, and the rear is especially smooth. The front is a touch fast and I couldn't find a way to slow it.

Set Up For Lighter Riders

The rear shock only has preload, with no rebound or compression adjustment. At around 200 lb I could bottom it out jumping on the beach. If you weigh closer to 150, Ben says it fits you like a glove.

Lots Of Travel

Mudliz lists 190 mm up front and 450 mm in the rear on the X. There are plastic guards on the stanchions and a rubber flap that covers the shock from rocks and mud.

Mudliz M6000 X front brake caliper

Brakes And Tires Do The Job

Hydraulic discs front and rear · knobby tires

Meaty Calipers, Thick Rotors

A four-piston caliper up front on a rotor Ben put at 200 to 220 mm, and a dual-piston caliper out back that's strong enough to skid the rear. They're floating calipers, and the thick rotors should stay straight when they heat up.

Proper Dirt Bike Tires

A 60/100 on the 17 inch front and an 80/100 on the 14 inch rear, with big aggressive knobs. They grip like all hell and aren't super loud on the road.

Strong Wheels

Strong rims and thick motorcycle spokes that should stay true. The rear dropout is fully adjustable, so you can set chain tension if you change the sprocket.

Mudliz M6000 X display and controls

The Cockpit

Simple, And Nothing Extra

Ignition key, twist throttle, one screen

Turn the key and you get power. The screen shows a four-bar battery meter, the speedometer in miles or kilometers an hour, and the power mode in yellow on the right. The M button cycles through odometer, trip, average speed, max speed, battery voltage and time. A full charge read 67.1 volts.

The controls are moto style, so the front brake is on the right and the rear on the left, opposite a bicycle. The grips are soft, and the full twist throttle is nicely detailed.

There are no lights, no horn and no cruise control. It's an off-road bike, so don't get stuck out there in the dark.

  • Handlebar height44.1"
  • Wheelbase45.3"
  • Overall length65.0"
  • Ground clearance12.2"
  • Rider height4'8" – 6'4"

I'm 5'9" and I fit on this bike very, very well. It reminds me of a little pit bike, and you can sit further back or further forward. The bars are really high, with a big riser and a little sweep back, so you sit straight up. Mudliz makes a smaller M6000 S on 14 and 12 inch wheels for riders up to 5'11". I'd rather have the 17 and 14 inch setup on a bike like this. Mudliz doesn't publish a weight limit, and I wouldn't recommend the X to anyone over 200 lb.

The Bike Cave Verdict

Ben's Take

“The bike is very nice, it's powerful, it's got no bells and whistles. It is purely an off-road machine.”
“For under two grand to get yourself a 60 volt, 25 amp hour bike with 6,000 watts of power, it was pretty good, man.”
“I probably wouldn't recommend this bike to anybody over 200 pounds. You'd bottom this thing out all the time.”
Ben, The Bike CaveFrom the full video review

👍 What I loved

  • 40 mph on the GPS on a little bike like this
  • Soft, slow, controlled suspension with lots of travel
  • Brakes that stop from 28 mph with half a bike to spare
  • Racetrack knobbies that grip like all hell
  • A smooth, detailed throttle and a tamer mode 1 for new riders
  • Still 23 mph uphill with one battery bar left
  • Under $2,000 for a 60V 25Ah bike with 6,000W peak
  • About 30 minutes to assemble

👎 What to know

  • Over 200 lb you'll bottom the suspension out
  • No weight limit published
  • The riser bars are almost too high, and the turning radius is very low
  • The seat is cushy but the foam isn't dense
  • No lights, no horn, no cruise control
  • Loud, like most bikes in this class
  • Not street legal; off-road and private property only

The Million-Dollar Question

Buy It If

You're a lighter rider, around 150 lb or less, or a teenager. The suspension is set up soft, and it fits you like a glove.

Skip It If

You weigh over 200 lb and want to jump it, or you want something to ride on the street at night. There are no lights and it's off-road only.

Frequently asked questions

How fast is the Mudliz M6000 X?

40 mph on the GPS in mode 3 with a rider close to 200 lb. Mudliz claims 45. Ben's read: not all the way to the claim, but 40 mph on a little bike like this is very fast, and a lighter rider should get closer to 45.

Is the Mudliz M6000 X street legal?

No. Mudliz sells it for off-road and private property use only, and it is not a Class 1, 2 or 3 e-bike. It has no pedals, no lights, no horn and no cruise control. Check your local laws before you ride it anywhere.

How far does it go on a charge?

Ben rode 14 miles in hard testing and still had three of four battery bars left, which he figures is another 10 to 15 miles if you ride conservatively. Mudliz claims up to 56 miles. His rule of thumb is about one mile per amp hour on throttle alone, and the pack is 25Ah.

What is the difference between the M6000 S and the M6000 X?

Same 60V 25Ah battery, same 6,000W peak motor and same speed. The S rolls on 14 and 12 inch wheels with a 28.3 inch seat for riders 3'11" to 5'11". The X rolls on 17 and 14 inch wheels with a 31.9 inch seat, and Mudliz lists it for riders 4'8" to 6'4". Ben rode the X.

Is there a weight limit?

Mudliz does not publish one, which Ben called out in the review. At close to 200 lb he could bottom the suspension out, and he would not recommend the bike to anyone heavier. The suspension is soft and fixed, so lighter riders get the best ride.

Does it take much to set up?

It arrives 85% pre-assembled and Ben had it together in about 30 minutes. His one tip is to buy a moto stand ($40 to $50 on Amazon) before it arrives, because it makes the build much easier.
