Power mode 3, throttle pinned, flat road, 5′9″ / ~200 lb rider with gear. Heybike quotes 45 mph. “It just picks up and instantly at 30 mph. 36, 37, 38, 39 — can we get to 40? 40 MPH! Woohoo! 40 mph on a little dirt bike like this is exhilarating.”
Long sustained ~15% grade from the fire hydrant, throttle only, mode 3, full battery. “I'm about 29 miles an hour right now before the hill starts and we are just cooking — 28 mph uphill. 29, yeah. Wow. This thing's got some power, man.”
Same lamp-pole-to-driveway run I use on every bike, all three modes. Mode 1 tapped out at 17 mph GPS, mode 2 hit 25. “Okay, number three. Oh, so much more power. 25, 27… probably about 27, 28 mph in that short a distance.”
28 mph into the marker, dry pavement, DOT motorcycle calipers. “And brake — oh my god. I almost went over the bars. Look at this, I'm like halfway through my normal distance. I've got enough room here to put three more bikes. That's insane.”
Gravel dyke, cottonwood-covered path, tall grass and a light singletrack detour. “This thing just has tons of power and tons of grip. Like wherever you want to take it, it'll take you. Easy.” The soft compound hooks up on loose stuff better than expected.
Ridden hard all day — top-speed runs, two hill climbs, off-road, mode 3 most of the way. “We've done 18 mi as per our odometer here and we're still at two battery bars left… we've only used three battery bars.” Heybike quotes up to 50 mi.
About these numbers: every figure above is what I actually got on the day — 5′9″, right around 200 lb with gear on, GPS running beside the bike's own speedo. Heybike's 45 mph and 50 mi are achievable, just not by a rider my size. “This bike is designed and made for a much smaller rider than I am. If you're shorter and lighter, you're going to love this bike.”

Voltage Is The Trick
Everything else in this class runs 48V. The Villain's 52V system is why it still pulled 26 mph uphill on one battery bar: “same amount of wattage, sure — but at 52V this battery gives this bike full power for so much longer.”
Three Usable Modes
Mode 1 caps around 18–19 mph GPS and is genuinely beginner-safe. Mode 2 is where the dirt-bike torque shows up. Mode 3 is full send.
Tunable
An 80A FarDriver controller sits under the rear panel. Add the USB dongle and you can Bluetooth in and change throttle curve, top speed and mileage from your phone.

The Brakes Are The Highlight
DOT-approved motorcycle calipers on genuinely thick rotors, floating so they stay centred. “They grab so hard, and you can modulate them as well — I can feather them or I can pretty much endo the bike.”
Inverted Fork
Motocross-style inverted fork with stanchion guards. No rebound or compression adjusters, but it feels good straight out of the box.
Preload Only Out Back
The rear shock is massive, but preload is the only adjustment. At 200 lb I was already deep in the travel — this is the one thing I'd change.

Biggest Pack In Its Class
The pack fills the frame and charges in the bike through a side port, or lifts out on one butterfly nut if you'd rather not leave it out in the cold.
Nothing Rattles
“Most bikes have a problem back here — play between the shock eyelet and the bolt. With this bike? Nothing. It's buttoned up and super quiet.” Build took about 20 minutes with the supplied tools.

Key ignition, a magnetic lanyard kill switch and a real reverse button — features you normally have to spend $2,000 to get.

Five battery bars, speed in mph or km/h, three power modes, and an M button that cycles trip, average speed, max speed, live pack voltage and the clock. The throttle behind it is the real story: “I'm maybe a quarter inch into the twist and I can just crawl along. It's super detailed.”
Even in mode 3 I could sit at a steady 3, 10 or 15 mph on throttle alone. The one thing I'd add is a range or percentage readout — when you're out in the woods, battery bars aren't quite enough information.

At 5′9″ I fit this bike fine — tall riser bars and a long seat let you sit forward or back. The limit isn't room, it's the spring rate: “if you're north of 200 lb you're going to bottom this thing out constantly”. Heavier riders should look at a 14/17″ bike with stiffer suspension. It is an off-road-only machine — not street-legal — so check your local laws.

Ben's Take
I've ridden a lot of these little e-motos and this is probably the nicest, best-put-together one I've been on. Nothing rattles. The welds are immaculate. The brakes are mint — I nearly went over the bars and still had room for three more bikes. And the 52V architecture is the real difference: it was still doing 26 mph uphill on one battery bar. If you're looking for the mini e-moto with the most power under $1,500, look no further. My only real gripe is the suspension — at 200 lb I'm already deep in the travel. Under 200 lb, this thing is a load of fun.
