Ben's Take
The Level 4 ADV is Aventon bringing mid-drive tech to its commuter line, and it's a genuinely clever bike. A 100Nm Ultro S mid-drive and an 800Wh battery give it up to 110 miles of range, the electronic Shimano CUES drivetrain with Autoshift means you can stop thinking about gears entirely, and at 61 lbs it's light for what it is. The three-size range topping out at a 6'7"-friendly XL is a welcome touch for taller riders. At $2,799 it costs meaningfully more than the hub-drive Level 3, so on camera I want to feel whether the mid-drive ride and the auto-shifting justify the jump — but as a modern, long-range commuter it's one of the most interesting in its class.
