The Bike Cave is a review site. We don't sell bikes, run accounts, or process payments, so the amount of personal information we handle is small. This page explains what we do collect and what happens to it.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you enter it in our bike-finder quiz. That's the only personal information we ask for anywhere on the site.
- Your quiz answers, which stay in your own browser's storage so you can pick up where you left off. They also travel with your email when you submit it, so we know what kind of bike you were looking for.
What we do with it
Your email goes into our newsletter list, which is run by beehiiv, an email newsletter service. We use it to send your quiz results and our newsletter about e-bikes, reviews, and deals. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing works immediately.
We don't sell your email address or share it with anyone beyond the services that make the site run.
Services we rely on
- Cloudflare hosts this site and, like any host, processes visitor IP addresses to serve pages and block abuse.
- beehiiv stores our email list and sends our newsletters. Their own privacy policy applies to how they handle that data.
- YouTube provides the embedded videos on our review pages. Loading an embedded video is subject to Google's privacy policy.
- Retailers and affiliate networks. When you click a "Check Price" or buy link, the store you land on may use cookies to credit us with the referral. What happens on their site is governed by their policies, not ours.
Cookies and local storage
We don't run ad trackers. The site uses your browser's local storage to remember your quiz progress and email so you don't have to retype them. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email. If you want your email removed from our list entirely, write to [email protected] and we'll delete it.
